Uplands Homestead
Uplands Homestead is a beautifully restored gracious Victorian farmhouse situated in the malaria free Kwandwe Game Reserve of the Eastern Cape in South Africa.
The Uplands Homestead is designed for sole use of a group or family of up to 6 guests. The home consists of three spacious en-suite bedrooms with private terraces that overlook the landscaped garden. The sitting and dining areas feature high ceilings, wooden floors and beautiful fireplaces. A large shaded veranda leads out to a swimming pool and gazebo. Families will have their own private ranger, 4x4 vehicle, tracker and private chef who will lovingly prepare Pan African cuisine and local specialities.
The Kwandwe Game Reserve stretches some 40 kilometres along the Great Fish River. The Reserve is named after the endangered Blue Crane birds which inhabit the area. Kwandwe is also home to a diversity of animals including buffalo, elephant, lion and black and white rhino. The Kwandwe area is steeped in history and culture and you will learn about the Frontier Wars (1779 to 1878) between the Xhosa, the Dutch farmers and the 1820 English settlers.
