Robins House
Robins House was until recently the personal home of Robin and Jo Pope of Robin Pope Safaris. This beautifully redecorated home is open all year and lies on the edge of Nkwali Camp on the banks of the Luangwa River in the South Luangwa National Park.
Robins House welcomes children of all ages, making it the ideal place for families or guests looking for some privacy. All the rooms have a great view of the river where a large variety of animals come down to drink. During your stay at Robins House your family will have a private chef and house manager who will arrange for your meals to be served where and when you like. There are a range of safari activities for your children to enjoy including game drives, birding for beginners and nature trails to identify animal spoor and droppings. Your family can do these activities together or the children can be looked after by trained staff enjoying all sorts of quizzes and puzzles in their safari packs or taking trips out to the local schools to meet Zambian children and then baking cookies on their return. A walking safari can be arranged for families with older children.
Luangwa is well known for large populations of African mammals and has earned a reputation for some of the best leopard sightings in Africa. There are also lion and wild dog as well as the smaller predators such as civet, mongoose and genet. Bush buck, puku, impala, zebra, kudu are plentiful. The birdlife is vast with large numbers of water birds. The Luangwa Valley is famous because of its walking safaris and is without doubt the most thrilling way of seeing the bush and wildlife.
