Leopard
- Leopards are solitary creatures and go out of their way to avoid each other - they hunt mostly at night
- Cubs stay with their mothers for two years.
- Of all the cats the leopard is the best tree climber and can carry prey weighing twice their body weight up a tree
- When a leopard is not hunting it can move through herds without disturbing them by flipping its tail on its back to reveal its white underside – a sign that it is not seeking prey
- Leopards, with other predators, help keep the herbivore population from getting out of control. Without them, the land may become overgrazed
- Leopards like the water and are very strong swimmers. Sometimes eat fish and crabs
- Leopards don’t roar as loud as lions but they can also purr
